It’s official. LiAngelo Ball will enter the 2018 NBA Draft, according to his agent Harrison Gaines.
In nine games for Vytautas Prienu, Ball has averaged 15.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.8 assists per game while shooting 44% from the field and 45% from three-point range.
Standing at 6’5″ and weighing in at 216 pounds, Ball may be worth a late-round flier for a team looking for some added publicity. Many NBA scouts do not view Ball as an NBA talent, but given his recent play in Lithuania, many fans believe that Ball could make it as a bench player.
The most obvious landing spot for Ball, would be the Los Angeles Lakers. However; Lakers president of basketball operations, Magic Johnson appears to be getting tired of LiAngelo’s father, LaVar Ball, who claimed his son Lonzo Ball, would leave the Lakers if they didn’t sign/draft LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball.
Whether or not any team will take a chance at Ball remains to be seen. The most likely scenario for Ball would be going undrafted, then signing on somewhere as an undrafted free agent.
One thing is for certain: Wherever it is Ball ends up, they can expect quite a bit more media attention.
